The pen plotter (see previous post!) has survived initial functional tests and demonstrated its usefulness when transferring fretsaw templates to plywood. Now I will deal with the optionally available Laser Engraver Upgrade Pack - 500mW, 405nm (blue-violet)!
The software developed for the pen plotter only has a rudimentary laser mode, so I also install Benbox because this tool should also be able to handle grayscale images. However, what I already said for mDraw also applies to this program: there has to be something better!
The cat picture - engraved from a scanned pencil drawing from my wife's sketchpad - was given away quicker than lasered! It's not for nothing that the saying goes: "It was gone, like Schmidt's cat!" Thank God, my laser plotter is still there! Of course I can't wipe out distant galaxies with the low power, but it's definitely enough to occasionally "spice up" my hobby projects with special effects! And: My wife wouldn't tolerate any more burning smell in our living room anyway!

Maybe this bonus can motivate you to keep track of the time! - Carpe Diem! Yes, I also used the time to work on grbl (in theory at first) and discovered the excellent freeware Laser-grbl: I can begin converting my plotter to grbl!
